The NGO was founded in 2018 by French general practitioner, who, having worked with displaced people in Greece for several years, decided to start a clinic for the refugees arriving on the island of Samos. Run by a team of around 20 medics and non-medics that consisted of volunteers from all over the world, our Samos clinic treated over 80,000 patients between 2018 and 2021. The clinic operated on 6 days per week without interruption, with a second, temporary clinic in operation during Covid-19 lockdowns. After the move of the Samos camp from Vathy to a closed and more isolated camp, Med'EqualiTeam ended its activities on the island in October 2021. In June 2022, Med'EqualiTeam started a new project in Poland support Ukrainian refugees and provide relief to the Polish healthcare system. This ended in January 2023.
Our next project will be in Lebanon, soon more informations.
Med’EqualiTeam is a non-profit organisation and is entirely dependent on crowdfunding, donations and support from other NGOs.
