Emergency assistance in Libya

Med'EqualiTeam

MUSSA’ADA («help») project - A partnership to provide primary health-care in Libya

Between 10th and 12th September 2023, Hurricane Daniel caused largescale destruction in northeastern Libya. With more than 4,000 deaths and 8,500 individuals still unaccounted for, the local authorities are facing extreme pressure while essential services such as water, electricity, and health services accessibility have been compromised.

THE PARTNERSHIP

In partnership with Super-Novae, an international NGO based in Libya since 2021, and in liaison with the local authorities, Med'EqualiTeam is taking an active part in setting up an emergency response to the situation, more specifically near Derna (eastern Libya).

The team is already coordinating with partners in the field, the project will consist of a centre hosting several activities, including primary healthcare and psychological support.
